"Time doesn’t go any slower here, north of Bodø. It just feels that way. It is not until you look at your watch that you realise it is midnight. You don’t care, quite the contrary. The light keeps you awake, it is calm and your golf ball is going where you want it to – for the most part. It was just at the third hole that you felt the midnight sun was too bright. You know you have to take your time, one stroke at a time. You reckon you will manage another round before breakfast.”
Between the chalk-white beach at Mjelle, the temperate bathing spot in Geitvågen, the open sea with Landego and the Lofoten Islands as the backdrop, and only a short distance to city life in Bodø, you have found one of the country’s most magnificent golf courses. This unique golf course is set in beautiful, scenic surroundings. The green is down by the shore, there are Viking burial grounds in the middle of the course, and in the summer you can play in the light of the midnight sun.

The golf course is situated in Myklebostad, a mere 10 minute drive north of Bodø. If you drive for a further half hour, you will reach Kjerringøy, known as location for the filming of Knut Hamsun’s novels. The new hotel, Kjerringøy Brygge, was opened in 2007 in the heart of the old trading post.
